Esce ufficialmente oggi, 14 giugno, il nuovo album dei Maga Dog "Il Nostro Stile", distribuito in tutta Italia da Self e scaricabile dalla piattaforma digitale I-Tunes,prodotto da Bizzarri Records, una delle etichette indipendenti più attive d'Italia che produce artisti di livello internazionale come Lion D e Ras Tewelde, e tra i più conosciuti in Italia come Fido Guido, Raina, Ginko della Villa Ada.

Una nuova fatica discografica per questa band di origini abruzzesi e pugliesi che esprime la voglia di creare sempre nuova musica e di toccare nuovi stili, senza mai abbandonare il percorso consapevole di fede e di lotta politica promosso da sempre.

Dopo il primo album che aveva un suono più' morbido e con atmosfere più dub

(grazie anche all'influenza di Madaski nella produzione) ,"Stile" irrompe con una carica compositiva diversa, con dei suoni decisamente più' moderni e con un alto livello di orecchiabilità.

Solide basi roots e new roots fondano la struttura compositiva intorno alla quale don Tino e Luca Dread scrivono le loro canzoni, non avendo paura di farsi contaminare da sonorità zouk, r&b o ska, proponendo così all'ascoltatore una miscellanea di brani magistralmente eseguiti e molto intensi.

La title-track dell'album 'Stile' racchiude a livello comunicativo, un po' tutto quello che poi si ritrova nelle altre canzoni. I temi trattati sono vari: hanno una collocazione molto politica "Burn di Police", scritta per non dimenticare Federico Aldrovandi, Stefano Cucchi e Carlo Giuliani, "Cambia idea" dedicata ai politici dalle camicie verdi che sempre insultano il Sud d'Italia o i nostri fratelli africani, "Liberaganja" per chi ancora purtroppo sogna la cannabis terapeutica, cantata con Lion D, oppure "Dimmi come fai" che si interroga su come si possa scegliere di fare un lavoro come il pilota di caccia. "Lode a Jah" e "Give Thanks" invece sono preghiere alla figura di Sua Maestà Haile Selassie, figura molto importante per i due singer, rastafariani convinti, come Ras Hobo (Orchestra Italiana di Renzo Arbore) che in "Lode a Jah", con la sua lirica ed i suoi nyabinghi, porta un contributo essenziale. Il tema dell'amore, con una visione rispettosa della figura della donna, si trova in "Resta qui vicino a me","Amo te" ,"Love is Real"," Love at first sight", "L'amore è come un gioco", "Dove sei" e "Se davvero Vuoi". Il primo singolo in uscita con un videoclip è "Amo te", che vede la partecipazione di alcuni musicisti di Africa Unite e Bluebeaters.

Un disco di un'energia semplice ed immediata, diretto al cuore con una passione irrefrenabile. Con questo album i Maga Dog continuano con passo sicuro il cammino iniziato anni fa, scoprendo nuovi orizzonti compositivi e nuove sonorità che ci fanno capire che il reggae italiano non è morto.

JULIAN MARLEY - BIOGRAFIA

E' figlio di Bob Marley e Lucy Pounder, membro del movimento Rastafari e cantante, musicista, autore di musica reggae di successo.
La sua vita è segnata dalla musica fin dalla più tenera età, e non poteva essere altrimenti: nasce a Londra nel 1975, a 5 anni incide – col padre ancora vivo - la prima canzone a Kingston, a 11 compone la prima song, ben presto diventa un abile polistrumentista autodidatta, dimostrando grande padronanza soprattutto di basso, batteria e tastiere.
Nel 1989, a soli 14 anni, pubblica il suo primo album intitolato "Uprising", titolo mutuato dalla band a cui appartiene. La sua musica è pervasa dai tipici valori - libertà, spiritualità, pace, speranza, giustizia, positività - inculcati dalla filosofia Rasta e dal celebre genitore. Tre anni più tardi il richiamo delle proprie radici diventa irresistibile e Julian si trasferisce nell'amata Giamaica; qui comincia a lavorare con alcuni veterani del reggae come Aston Barrett, Earl Lindo, Tyrone Downie e Earl Smith, stabilendo rapporti artistici importanti per la futura crescita. Tale maturazione - fortemente cercata e voluta - ha un suo primo acme nel 1996, con la pubblicazione di "Lion In The Morning".
Il disco vede la luce con la benedizione e la collaborazione del clan Marley: il team di produzione che se ne occupa è la Ghetto Youths International, fondato dai fratelli Stephen e Ziggy, e viene registrato nel mitico studio Marley Music di Kingston, lo stesso dove il padre creò molti dei lavori che gli diedero gloria imperitura.
Con Stephen e l'altro fratello Damien forma i Ghetto Youths Unite, una crew che si affianca ai Melody Makers di Ziggy nel portare avanti il verbo paterno. Pur giovanissimo, sul finire del 2000 Julian è già un musicista navigato con alle spalle centinaia di esibizioni in mezzo mondo e tour in Brasile, Giappone e Mexico, senza contare un "Marley Magic" tour in Nord America - datato 1997 – in cui lui e Damian aprono i concerti dei Melody Makers.
Per il secondo album completo bisogna aspettare fino al 2003, anno in cui prende corpo "A Time And Place", un disco che, pur mantenendosi legato alle tradizioni rasta-raggae di famiglia (il brano d'apertura s'intitola, non a caso, "Father's Place"), si rivela anche più aperto ad altre influenze: tra i 13 brani figurano anche melodie latine, ballate dal sapore r&b e un brano hip hop. Il suo ultimo album 'Awake' è del 2009.

One Way Ticket: Rasta at Home and Abroad è il primo album solista del cantante reggae 'conscious' Ras Tewelde, attivo nella scena da più di dieci anni e conosciuto come ambasciatore del messaggio Rastafari della musica reggae nel mondo.

L'album, la cui uscita è prevista per il 3 Maggio 2011, contiene varie collaborazioni con artisti giamaicani realizzate durante i numerosi viaggi nell'Isola. La più importate è sicuramente quella con il leggendario Sugar Minott, con cui ha registrato una delle ultime canzoni prima della sua scomparsa nel luglio 2010 (Mr. Squadie). Le altre combination con i veterani del 'dj style' Josie Wales, Stitchie e Louie Culture, ma ci sono anche stelle nascenti dall'Europa e dall'Africa come Lion D, Jamafrica e Sahara Benji, direttamente da Shashamane in Etiopia, dove Ras Tewelde trascorre regolarmente lunghi periodi di tempo.

L'album contiene singoli già usciti come Everywhere I Go, Mama Africa (la combination con i Jamafrica il cui video è passato nelle tv musicali italiane) e You Cyaan Do Dat, di cui è stato girato il videoclip con Louie Culture a Portland, in Giamaica. Di particolare rilievo le musiche, interamente realizzate dallo storico beat-maker di Ras Tewelde, The Magista, e mixate nel Bizzarri Studio di Modena.

Il messaggio, dal titolo dell'album ai testi delle canzoni, è incentrato sull'Africa, il Continente che custodisce le origini dell'uomo, e sulla sua rinascita, possibile soltanto attraverso una spiritualità pervasa di Pace e Amore, le cui fonti primarie di ispirazione sono Haile Selassie I e la terra d'Etiopia. La mappa seguita dalle canzoni è un viaggio spirituale ed emotivo che parte dall'Africa per il Nuovo Mondo, passando per l'Oceano, per ritornare poi, di nuovo, in Africa. Un 'biglietto di sola andata' per l'Etiopia, la madre terra non solo per i Rasta ma per tutte le persone che cercano un luogo dove ritrovare la propria spiritualità. One Way Ticket è anche il primo videoclip tratto dall'album, un racconto per immagini del vissuto di Ras Tewelde come Rastaman durante i suoi lunghi soggiorni in Etiopia e in Jamaica.

Dopo l'uscita dell'album Ras Tewelde si esibirà insieme a Lion D e alla Livity Band nel Rastafari Children Tour, che toccherà le città d'Italia e d'Europa. Il nome del tour è tratto da Rastafari Children No Cry, la combination con Lion D prossimamente in uscita come videoclip.

ONE WAY TICKET: Rasta at Home and Abroad, the first Album by the conscious Rasta singer Ras Tewelde, produced by Bizzarri Records, a new Italian independent label, which has recently exploded into the international dimension of Reggae Music.

The album will have many important combinations with international artists, such as the Jamaican legend Sugar Minott (Mr. Squadie) and the DJ’s Josie Wales, Stitchie and Louie Culture and other rising stars from Europe and Africa, like the Italian Lion D or Sahara Benji, a youth from Shashamane, Ethiopia.

The first videoclip released are Mama Africa, in combination with Jamafrica and You Cyaan Do Dat, in combination with Louie Culture. The next videoclip is One Way Ticket, that shows Ras Tewelde's life as Rastaman and his travels in Ethiopia and Africa. A particular attention has to be given to the sophisticated instrumentals, where the collaboration with his historical beat-maker, The Magista, evokes of yearning for Revelation’.

There’s a message which is clear here, from titles to lyrics: the Continent of Africa shelters the roots of humanity, and Repatriation has to be the new Re-birth for Ethiopia. It is a Vision, vibrating in the essence of Love, with a constant spiritual link to his primary source of inspiration, Haile Selassie I and the land of Ethiopia. The road map followed by the songs is a spiritual and emotional journey from Africa to the New Ancient World across the Ocean and then, back again to Africa.

This Summer Ras Tewelde will tour Italy and Europe with Lion D and The Livity Band for the Rastafari Children Tour, from the song Rastafari Children No Cry.

BUSTA RHYMES, uno dei rapper americani più famosi nel mondo, sarà in concerto a Modena, al Vox Club di Nonantola, per l'unica data del centro e nord Italia del suo tour europeo. Il cantante si esibirà per quasi due ore in un dj set tra i più energici della scena hip hop internazionale. Un live che si preannuncia imperdibile per tutti gli appassionati del genere.

A un anno e mezzo di distanza dall'uscita di The Burnin' Melody, l'album di esordio di Lion D nella scena musicale internazionale, il cantante reggae italiano di origini africane che vanta di un pubblico di appassionati sempre più vasto, esce con un nuovo lavoro dal titolo Reap What You Sow, una raccolta di singoli e brani inediti che arriva prima della pubblicazione del secondo album ufficiale.

Il cd si presenta come uno Street Album in quanto contiene singoli già usciti per diverse etichette (come High prodotto dai francesi Fury Bass, Reap What You Sow, Smoke The Best, Heart Attack e Too Physical sui riddim di Bizzarri) e brani cantati su basi giamaicane come Eazy Sexy Girl e Me Nah Ina Dat.

Come suggerisce il titolo Reap What You Sow (trad. 'Raccogli quello che semini'), in questo cd Lion D raccoglie i frutti di un'ininterrotta attività di composizione, che gli ha permesso di scegliere da una grande quantità di materiale i brani più adatti ad essere pubblicati in un album. Le tematiche affrontate variano dal sociale alla sfera spirituale, dall'amore universale a quello per la propria donna, lasciando spazio anche al divertimento e al lato piu' spensierato dell'artista.

La raccolta, prodotta dall'etichetta indipendente Bizzarri Records, mostra le abilità del cantante italiano di spaziare, con grande padronanza linguistica e musicale, tra diversi generi musicali, dalla dancehall al new roots più classico fino all' hip hop (Neva Smoke Enough), passando per l'acustico (Dem a Vampire), dove rivela tutte le sue doti vocali.

L'album contiene anche brani inediti tra cui una combination con l'artista giamaicano King Kong (Nah Work On Sunday), Walk Inna Mi Shoes e Trendsetta, che sarà il primo videoclip tratto dall'album.

Dopo l'uscita dell'album Lion D si esibirà in un Live Tour, il RastafarI Children Tour, che toccherà le città d'Italia e d'Europa accompagnato dalla sua band ufficiale, la Livity Band e da un' altro cantante della scuderia Bizzarri, Ras Tewelde.

IL PRIMO VIDEOCLIP TRATTO DAL NUOVO ALBUM

Il brano, un rifacimento in chiave moderna di “Here Comes The Hotstepper” di Ini Kamoze, fa parte del nuovo Street Album 'Reap What You Sow' in uscita nei negozi e store digitali in 15 Aprile 2011.

Il videoclip è ambientato nei ghetti di Spanish Town, Tivoli Gardens e Trench Town e mette in risalto l’estrema povertà della gente che si adatta a fare i lavori più umili per poter vivere.

L’artista si immedesima nella realtà giamaicana rappresentando un giovane del posto che al mattino lavora come autista per comprarsi, con quei soldi, la strumentazione con la quale poter cantare e quindi realizzare il proprio sogno. L’obiettivo è quello di voler rappresentare la realtà' di un certo strato sociale, descrivendo la difficile vita piena di ostacoli e far capire a tutti coloro, che vivono in quelle condizioni, che si possono trovare delle alternative.

Il video è stato girato da un video maker indipendente, Skanka, di origine belga, con un basso budget ma buona riuscita. Lo stesso shanka ha girato il videoclip “Nah like the way deh”, canzone già conosciuta in quanto chiude la track list del suo cd d’esordio.

Lion D, all’anagrafe David Andrew Ferri, italo-nigeriano da sempre vissuto in Italia ma con sangue africano, possiede delle spiccate qualità che lo porteranno ad avere meritati riconoscimenti.

A year and a half from the release of The Burnin' Melody, the debut album from Lion D in the international music scene, the italian reggae singer with african origins is preparing a collection of singles, supposed to be released in May 2011. A collection coming out just before the release of his second album, that includes all the singles Lion D has been recording in 2010, as Trendsetta (which will soon be out with a video-clip, shot in Kingston_Jamaica) and featurings with Jamaican artists such as Rob Simeon and King Kong.

As the title REAP WHAT YOU SOW suggests, in this so-called cd, Lion D reaps the fruits of an uninterrupted activity of composition, which allowed him to choose from a large amount of material.

Most of the songs are produced by BIZZARRI RECORDS, except High (produced by the french label Fury Bass), Neva Smoke enogh (on All I Do Is Win riddim), Eazy Sexy Girl and Nah Change Pattern (on the jamaican riddims Dancehall Again and Dutty Gamez), and show us the ability of the singer's range, his musical versatility and his fluency in moving from one genre to another, from the latest dancehall to the classic new roots.

After the release of the album, Lion D will tour Italy and Europe backed by his official band, The Livity Band, and another singer of the Bizzarri Records team, Ras Tewelde, the RASTAFARI CHILDREN TOUR.

THE OFFICIAL VIDEOCLIP

The song , a modern remake of the track "Here comes the Hotstepper" of Ini Kamoze, is accompanied by a videoclip shot in March 2010 in Kingston suburbs, Spanish Town, Tivoli Gardens and Trench Town.

The videoclip is directly shot in the ghetto as the track deals with the "hustlers", people who struggle everyday to survive. The aim is to represent the hard life, full of problems , of a certain social class and at the same time to make people living in such conditions understand that there is always a chance to make things better.

The videoclip is the narration of a standard day of a young man in the ghetto, who gets up in the morning to face another hard day to make ends meet, who engages himself in numberless activities without losing his courage and selfesteem, who does not fear other people's judgement because he is proud of himself and enjoys life no matter how hard it is.

Trendsetter is someone who launches the trend, not as a sort of fashion , but as a way of life.

Who lives in miserable conditions is always full of vitality and never gives up, this is the message the song wants to put stress on. (Lion D )

The videoclip comes from an idea of an independent Belgian videomaker, Skanka, who managed to do a good job with a low budget. Skanka is also the director of another videoclip, titled "Nah like the way deh",a well known track as it is the last song of Lion D debut album "The Burnin' melody".

After the hit 'Mama Africa' comes the new single and videoclip from the italian reggae singer Ras Tewelde in combination with the jamaican famous artist, Louie Culture. With this tune, this young messenger of Rastafarianism moves from Africa to Jamaica to talk about the difficult condition Rasta people still suffer in the Island.

The instrumental of 'You Cyaan Do Dat' is a remake of Bob Marley's African Herbsman, called 'African Herbs Riddim'.

The videoclip, realized in Jamaica by an indipendent videomaker (Alain 'Skanka' Hottat) in 2010, anticipates the first album of Ras Tewelde, out in May 2011. The album features other important combinations with european artists (Lion D and Jamafrica), ethiopian youths (Sahara Benji) and other jamaican singers as Josey Wales, Stichie and the legendary Sugar Minott.
